During the last weekend of March, many of us Shearites headed down to the UCC to watch our dancers put up their best performance at Dance Uncensored 2009. It took place in an auditorium filled with an audience cheering to a performance which got the blood in our veins pumping to the beat of some really good music.
The six halls of residence sent in their best dancers to prove their worth. The evening kicked off with a bang, with each hall’s dancers coming on stage, oozing confidence, grooving to great tunes and of course, with utmost grace and poise. As the audience left the theatre and the lights dimmed in the auditorium, melodies floated in the air, creating an atmosphere that one and all will reflect on and think of as a cathartic moment for dancers and audience alike. And as the dancers were praised by one another and the audience for a job well done, I think the only regret they must have had, was to be unable to watch their fabulous selves on stage.
