The Cultural Management Board, also affectionately known as CMB to Shearites, is the committee that manages the cultural scene both within and outside of Sheares Hall. CMB 07/08 comprises 21 team members and the 5 cultural ICs of the respective cultural groups – namely Dance, Shacapella, Geyao, Choir, and Band.

As mentioned, CMB manages the respective cultural groups in hall, facilitating and coordinating events and performances. CMB, with the 5 cultural groups cooperatively put up a number of events. There are tw0 major hall concerts, Good Luck Concert in Semester 1 and the CMB Concert in Semester 2. These 2 events are the cultural highlights where Shearites get to witness performances put up by our very own talented hall mates in the 5 cultural groups.

On the external level, CMB collaborates with the Centre For the Arts to organize Rockfest, an inter-hall College Rock Festival where 6 hall bands join forces to bring the house down. CMB is also responsible for overseeing the participation for several other inter-hall events such as Amplitude participated by Shacapella and Choir and Dance Uncensored for dance. Geyao, on the other hand, will usually have their annual separate concert with the aim of having the members gain stage experience and improving on their stage performance.

It is the vision of CMB to ensure that the Sheares Hall Cultural Scene is highly recognized by everyone. We focus on ensuring that a higher standard of performance and professionalism, equal to that of the external cultural scene, is adopted by our very own performers. However, ultimately we hope that both the performers and the members of CMB are able to gain an enriching and meaningful experience and exposure to arts and culture during their years being a Sheares hostelite.
